We are sure that there are a lot of important things in our lives that we need to focus on. However, due to several priorities, most of us sometimes have difficulties with what to prioritize. Since your goals allow you to help yourself and give you the motivation you need to work on things that you have to do, there are still tendencies that you often take some things for granted.

Things may not always come to your great value at times, and you have to consider that there are still lists of stuff that will keep your optimism. Instead of over-thinking about the things that don’t really matter, most counseling experts would suggest that you should try to focus on the essential aspects of life.

Commitment – We often take for granted the list of responsibilities we have to do and we sometimes end up juggling our priorities and attain nothing at all. As a matter of fact, a person with a lot of priorities with work, family, relationship, self-care (and the list goes on) always have difficulties working on it. People must learn how to commit to their responsibilities one at a time so he can focus on what actually matters to him. In this way, he can keep up with his list of goals and gradually attain it. “If your intention is to live a meaningful and healthy life, you will make decisions that support this intention, and feel good about yourself when you succeed in this purpose.” Deborah Khoshaba Psy.D. said.

Health – Health is the most unrated aspects in life that we tend to take for granted most of the time. It’s no doubt that we don’t seem to give importance to our mind and body. We often push our minds and bodies to the limit and that causes a long-term adverse effect. Since health is an essential aspect that can help through the process of attaining a goal, we should understand that everything will undoubtedly fall if we keep on using our physical and mental state over its maximum limit.

Time – Time has been taken for granted without us noticing it. We often feel confident that we can work on things even if we are only given a little amount of time. However, that mentality always makes us regret wasting the chances we have and end up having a complete compilation of failures. Yes, “No one likes to fail, but some people take it harder than others,” counselor Monte Drenner said. With that,  Time takes a lot of our life. in a split second, it changes almost everything, and we won’t have the chance of getting it back. We have to be careful in spending our time because it’s the scariest essential of life.

Relationship – Yes, (for most people) a relationship is the number one thing that we often take for granted. Whether it’s a romantic relationship, family, friends, we always ignore the value of those people who honestly love us. We often ask for more of what they can offer and feel that it’s a big deal if they can’t give us what we need. We demand time and effort without thinking that they might have needed it too. We take them for granted because we’re too selfish focusing on what we want. “We should examine the inextricable role that self-love plays in any and all human connection.” Clinical Psychologist and relationship expert Molly Gasbarrini, Ph.D. explains.
